Tyn-y-Wern is set amidst supberb countryside and there is scope for all kinds of outdoor activities – particularly horse riding.

We are situated in an ideal walking area, close to the three National Trails of Offa’s Dyke, Glyndwr Way and the Wye Valley Walk. The Radnor Forest is also close by, with miles of tracks for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

We can provide transport for you to and from the local pub/walks.

Places nearby well worth a visit are:

Bleddfa, just two miles down the road, this active village with the Bleddfa Centre which offers a unique combination of arts and personal development. They have a range of workshops, study groups and a gallery space for exhibitions.

Presteigne, with an award winning living museum The Judge’s Lodging.

Llandrindod Wells, local spa town, well known in the bowls world and has an annual Victorian Summer Festival and a long established golf course. The fantastic National Cycle Museum is also based in the middle of town.

The village of Abbey-Cwm-Hir is located 10 miles north of Llandrindod Wells. It has attractions such as the Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall.

Knighton, with the Offa’s Dyke Centre, Space Guard Centre and golf course.

Rhayader, well provided with welcoming pubs and the gateway to the wonderful Elan Valley, with numerous walks amongst spectacular scenery around the reservoirs. This is excellent walking and mountain biking country, and a great place to see red kites in their natural habitat.

Kington, on the English border, boasting the highest 18 hole golf course in England.

Builth Wells, historic market town, with wonderful walks along the River Wye and hosting many events, including the annual Royal Welsh Show at Llanelwedd.
